Henry Jenkins died at the poor house Sunday morning, from kidney troubles, from which he had long been a sufferer. This is the fourth death that has occurred there since the first of the year, and is an unusually heavy mortality. The body was laid to rest in the graveyard on the farm.
Louisville - Novis Jenkins, 41, of Louisville, died at his home Friday, Aug. 25.
He was employed at a tobacco company for 21 years and was a member of Bicknell Baptist Church and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Jenkins; daughters, Donna Joyce, Vicki Diane and Shelia Ann Jenkins, at home; mother, Mrs. Mary Jenkins of Beech Creek; two brothers, Glenn Jenkins of Central City and Arlus, Jr., of Louisville; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Steele of Vero Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Doris Stacy of Hialeah, Fla.
Services were held in Louisville Monday, Aug. 28, and burial was in Louisville Memorial Gardens.
Browder, Ky. - Will Jollie Jernigan, 60, of Browder, died early Saturday at his residence. Born March 20, 1912 in Powderly, he was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jella Clark, Browder; and Miss Geneva Jernigan, Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, Freeman Jernigan, Greenville, and Hollie Jernigan, Browder.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Bibbs Funeral Home, Greenville, conducted by the Rev. O.C. McClain, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Drakesboro. Burial will be in Powderly Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bibbs Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today.
Everett Jessup, 66, Dies on Jan. 7
Everett Jessup, 66, died Friday, Jan. 7 at 5:15 a.m. in Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
He was born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 23, 1905 and lived on Greenville Route 1. He was a retired sawmill operator and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tillie Jessup of Greenville Route 1; two sons, Edward Jessup and Earl Jessup of Crown Point, Ind.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hallie Bethel of Greenville and Mrs. Allie Bard of Greenville Route 1; three brothers, George Jessup and Jim Jessup of Greenville Route 1, J. W. Jessup of White Plains.
Funeral services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at Vernal Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Fred Fox. Burial was in the Vernal Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Joseph William Jessup, 73, of 1063 New Circle Road, a retired truck driver, husband of Alberta Williams Jessup, died Monday at his home. Services 11 a.m. today in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation after 8 a.m. today at Whitehall Funeral Chapel.
