In the name of God Amen. I Richard D. Reynolds of the county of Muhlenberg and State of Kentucky being weak in body but of perfect mind knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die do make, ordain and publish this my last will and testament.
1st - I will my soul to God who gave it.
2nd - I will my body after death to be buried in a Christian-like manner.
3rd - I will all my just debts to be paid and as to my worldly estate that it has pleased God to bless me with I will and devise as follows, to wit.
4th - I will and devise to my beloved wife Nancy Reynolds and my daughter Nancy Reynolds the four hundred acres of land on which I now live during the natural life of my wife.
5th - I will and devise to my wife and my daughter Nancy Reynolds the following named Negroes: Charles, Milly, Biddy, Charlott, Henry, and Mulvina during the natural life of my said wife.
6th - I will and devise to my wife and my daughter Nancy Reynolds my waggon and gear and four horses and eight cows and calves the balance of my horses and cattle to be sold on a credit of twelve months and the proceeds to be equally divided between Nancy Reynolds, Polly Reynolds, Susan Matthews, G.W. Reynolds, Phebe Bell, and the lawful heirs of Elizabeth Jones deceased.
7th - I will and devise to my wife and my daughter Nancy Reynolds all my stock of hogs and sheep my farming utensils of all kinds and descriptions also all my household and kitchen furniture of every kind and description whatsoever during the natural life my said wife.
8th - I will and devise to my wife and to my daughter Nancy Reynolds my dearborn and harness during the life of my said wife.
9th - I will and devise after the death of my beloved wife the land, Negroes and personal property described and devised to her and my daughter Nancy Reynolds during the natural life of my wife to be sold and equally divided with the increase between Nancy Reynolds, Polly Reynolds, Susan Matthews, George W. Reynolds, Phebe Bell and the lawful heirs of Elizabeth Jones deceased.
10th - I will and devise to Y.P. Reynolds, Joseph R. Reynolds, Joshua C. Reynolds, Eliza Reynolds, Margaret Reynolds and Nepolian Reynolds the lawful heirs of John G. Reynolds deceased a Negro girl by the name of Caroline and a negro boy by the name of Perry to be equally divided among the above named heirs.
11th - I will and devise to my daughter Polly Reynolds and her heirs a negro woman by the name of Barbary and her increase.
12th - I will and devise to Susan Matthews and her heirs a negro woman named Gena and her child John and increase.
13th - I will and devise to my son George W. Reynolds two Negro boys William and Ned.
14th - I will and devise to my daughter Phebe Bell and her heirs two Negro girls by the name of Amanda and Mary and their increase.
15th - I will and devise to Richard Jones, Nancy Jones alias McLean, Susan Jones alias Rothrock, John Jones, Peter C. Jones, Fielding Jones and George R. Jones the lawful heirs of Elizabeth Jones deceased a negro woman by the name of Ann and her three children Jude, Ellen and Jane to be equally divided among the above named heirs.
16th - I will and devise one hundred acres of land north of my home tract and sixty acres of land on the road leading to Greenville both tracts adjoining the land of John Allison to be sold and proceeds thereof equally divided between Nancy Reynolds, Polly Reynolds, Susan Matthews, George W. Reynolds, Phebe Bell, and the lawful heirs of Elizabeth Jones deceased.
17th - I will and devise that Hester and her two children, Maryher[?] and Mortimor, Bailey, Emily, Thornton, Cynthe and Bythe and their increase be sold for cash and the proceeds thereof be equally divided between Nancy Reynolds, Polly Reynolds, Susan Matthews, G.W. Reynolds, Phebe Bell and the lawful heirs of Elizabeth Jones deceased.
18th - I will and devise to Rosannah Boggess and her heirs five dollars.
19th - I will and devise to my son George W. Reynolds the whole of my son Thomas B. Reynolds' estate in the parish of Rapides and Natchitoches, LA.
20th - I will direct and appoint my son George W. Reynolds and Joseph C. Reynolds my sole Executors of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 14th day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty six.

As a codicil to this my last will and testament I give and devise to my granddaughter Nancy Bell a Negro girl by the name of Maryhugh[?] and her increase.
I will and devised to my granddaughter Nancy McLean a Negro girl by the name of Jude and her increase.
I will and devise to my granddaughter Susan Rothrock a Negro girl by the name of Ellen and her increase.

The foregoing last will and testament of Richard D. Reynolds deceased was exhibited into and proved to be the last will and testament of the said decedent by Henry W. Black, Hutson Martin, Kiniard Hay, and Howard Duvall witnesses to the will and codicil thereto annexed which is thereby ordered to be recorded.
