Moses M. Rice, 1894
In the name of God Amen. I Moses M. Rice being of sound mind and disposing memory do make and declare this my last will and testament.
First, I will and desire that my funeral expenses and all just debts that I may owe at my death be paid.
Second, I will and bequeath to my daughters Sarah Elizabeth Rice and Jane Ruth Rice, equally, all the property of whatsoever kind or charater that I may own at my death, during their lives or so long as they may remain single and in the event of the marriage or death of either of them, I will that her interest in said property shall descend to the one so surviving or remaining single and at her death or marriage, I will and bequeath all of said property to my son James J. Rice in fee simple.
Now in case that I should survive my said two daughters or that they should marry before my death in that event I will and bequeath all of my said property of whatsoever kind or character owned by me at my death to my son James J. Rice in fee simple, and in the event that either of my said two daughters should die or marry during my lifetime, I will and bequeath to the one so survivng or remaining single all of the said property of whatever kind or character so owned by me at my death during her life or so long as she may remain single and at her death or marriage, I will and bequeath all of said property of whatsoever kind or character to my son James J. Rice in fee simple as aforesaid.
Third, my reason for disposing of my property as above set forth is that my said two daughters are unprovided for, and my son James J. Rice has remained at home and provided for them and myself to an extent that none of my other children have, they having left home and further all of whom are comfortably provided for.
Fourth, I will and desire that my son James J. Rice be appointed as my Executor of this my last will and testament and that he shall not be required to execute any bond as such Executor.

The foregoing last will and testament of Moses M. Rice deceased was produced in open court on the date aforesaid and proven to be the act and deed of said decedent by the oath of John Allison, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who also testified to the signature of Selly Williasm, the other subscribing witness thereto, whereupon the same was adjudged to be the last will and testament of the said Moses M. Rice deceased and ordered to be recorded which is now done accordingly.
