Comments:	Thank you for the work you are doing to remember these patients. My great grandfather, Jacob Hoffman, was a patient and died there 7/1917. My grandfather had very few memories of his dad as a child and none of the family ever knew what happened to Jacob. It's good to finally know where he ended up. If there are any records that exist for Jacob Hoffman, I would appreciate it if someone could contact me.

Comments:	Your web site was very helpful...I am the 4th great grandson of one of your past patients. Lillie Childers was her name. She committed suicide in 1904...her death was sketchy....but now that I have found an account of her death on your web page it has cleared everything up. Thanks!!!

Comments:	I have been looking over your site to see if my father may have come there in the late 1940's.His name was Laben or Labe Bowling. He disappeared from all known places he ever was living in and we have never known to this day what happened to him. His last residence was in Dayton, Ohio.I believe he was mentally ill. That is why I thought Eastern State would be where he would be sent. My grandfather Joseph Alexander died there at Eastern State in 1946. He was committed for dementia probably now would be called Alzheimers. I remembered this when I saw your web site. I do have his death notice but not anything pertaining to the hospital. We use to visit him from Indiana. I was too small and not allowed to see him. Thank you for this project.

Comments:	I used to work at ESH for about 2 years through a temporary nursing agency. I have always been very interested in the history. I'm glad this website was established. I have seen all of these buildings inside and out. I hope you'll have more history to come on this facility.

Comments:	I like the site, I have been trying to find info on Mary Cloud Robbins that was supposed to have died in Eastern State Hospital in 1931 or 1932 she is also supposed to be buried somewhere close to the hospital, but I have had no luck in finding any proof of any of this, if you have any info I would appreciate it. He is buried there at ESH as well in an unmarked grave somewhere. He was born 1845 and his usual residence was Bell Co. KY and was his birthplace as well. Please list him. He has been forgotten. I have been researching the stories of people who stayed at the Eastern State Hospital over the 1800s and early 1900s. I am creating a poetry series which tells stories (but the names are fictionalized) of various people in Lexington who lived and died during those times. Comments:	This site is wonderful! I know that my grandfather, James A. Hurley, died at the Lexington Hospital in June 1931 of alcoholism. He had drunk so much that he was insane. I have looked for a death cert. or at least a notice of him dying, and have yet to find one. It is not listed here, for some reason, as it should be.

Comments:	I was recently given a tour of ESH. I have some great photos I would love to share with you. I have lived in Lexington for 9 years and although my husband worked at Lexmark for 6 of those I had no idea what I was passing when I drove down Newtown Pike. ESH is full of History and I wish I knew more of it. I was reading the Herald Leader this morning and was thrilled when I saw the article by Bruce Burris. It scares me that the grounds might be developed with little thought. We can't let that happen. I plan to attend the meeting on the 25th. (I also went to the greenhouse on Friday. It was amazing.) What would have happened if your group hadn't taken this on? probably nothing. Thanks!
