Mrs. Giannini, 87, Dies Jan. 9
Mrs. Margaret Mae Giannini, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 9, at 11:25 p.m. at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County March 4, 1884, she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Central City.
She is survived by a son, Dr. J. Thomas Giannini of Louisville; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Clark of Louisville and Mother Frances O.D.C. of Louisville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Miss Ruth May of Central City.
Services were Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Carmen DeChristopher in charge. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery.
Mrs. Nora Gill, 90, buried today
Beech Creek - Mrs. Nora Gill, 90, of Beech Creek, widow of the late J.E. Gill, died Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
She was born in Dalgreen, Ill. on Jan. 3, 1877, and was a charter member of Beech Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred Porter of Drakesboro and Mrs. Austin Newman of Greenville; son, Ott Gill of Beech Creek; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Ferry of Centralia, Ill. and Mrs. Abby Goddard of Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, James Lowry of Tacoma, Wash. and W.C. Lowry of Mount Vernon, Ind.
Services will be today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. John Brandon in charge, assisted by the Rev. James Beane. Burial will be in Hazel Creek Cemetery.
Bremen - Earl Walton (Poodie) Gish, 50, of Bremen, died yesterday at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Muhlenberg County a son of Allen (Buck) Gish of Bremen and the late Montie Vincent Gish, he was a school-bus driver and a member of South Carrollton Missionary Baptist Church and the Central City American Legion.
Surviving besides his father are eight sisters, Mrs. Mary Nell Herald, South Carrollton; Mrs. Betty Rigdon and Mrs. Nancy Level, both of Bremen, and Mrs. Inez Harold, Mrs. Sue Lewis, Mrs. Marie Hefley, Mrs. Ruthie Brown and Miss Fronda Gish, all of Louisville.
Services 2 p.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, with the Rev. Joe Spears officiating. Burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home.
