Mrs. Alice Noffsinger succumbs in Louisville
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Noffsinger, Owensboro, formerly of Central City, who died at the Kentucky Baptist hospital, Louisville, Sunday night, were conducted from the residence of Mrs. L.J. Mohon, this city, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, this city.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arch Owen, Owensboro, and Mrs. Roscoe Kitchen, Louisville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Smith, city; two brothers, Elvis Smith, city, and Shelby Smith, Chicago; one sister, Mrs. L.J. Mohon, this city.
The body was taken from Louisville to Owensboro and was brought to Central City Monday afternoon.
Mrs. Charlie Noffsinger
Bremen, Ky. - Mrs. Alice Katherine Noffsinger, 34, died at the home of her stepmother, Mrs. Gertie Wilcox, Central City, Route 3, at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, following an illness of several weeks.
She was a former employe of General Electric in Owensboro.
A native of Central City, she was a member of South Carrollton Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Wilcox, are her husband, Charlie T. Noffsinger, Bremen; a son, Donald Ray; a daughter, Betty Sue; four sisters, Mrs. T.A. Noffsinger, Allen Park, Mich.; Mrs. Vincent Navello, Richmond, Va., Mrs. Franklin Downs, South Carrollton; Mrs. Henry Durham, Scotland; two half brothers, Guy Thomas Wilcox, U.S. Navy, California, and Jimmy Lee Wilcox, Central City, Route 3; a half sister, Miss Carolyn Wilcox, Central City, Route 3.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the South Carrollton Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Charles Woodburn, pastor. Burial will take place at Shaver's Chapel Cemetery. The body will be removed from Tucker Funeral Home to the home of Mrs. Wilcox, Central City, Route 3, at 1:30 p.m. today.
Andrew Noffsinger, 11 years old, died of traumatic penumonia last Sunday at the home of his father, Mr. James E. Noffsinger, near Cleaton. The boy was plowing and the plow handle broke a rib, followed by pneumonia.
Central City - Anne C. Noffsinger, 84, of Main Street, Madisonville, formerly of Central City, died Sunday, May 27, 1990, at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City.
Survivors include a son, Winfred Noffsinger of Madisonville; a granddaughter, Sherri Sandford of Louisville; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Emmitt Tudor of Central City; and three sisters, Amy Holland, Gladys Jones and Willodean Noffsinger, all of Central City.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial is Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Visitation after 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Bremen, Ky. - Mrs. Annie Noffsinger, 82, of Bremen, died late Sunday at Community Methodist Hospital, Henderson. Born Nov. 25, 1890 in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James Rich of Henderson; one foster daughter, Mrs. Guy Hibbs of Madisonville; two brothers, Arthur Vincent of Bremen, Roy Vincent of Central City; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Woodall of Bremen; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, with the Rev. Gerald Jones, pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
Central City - Barney Lee Noffsinger, 57, of Central City, died at his home Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
Born in Muhlenberg County, he was a coal miner and a member of the Trinity Pentacostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Roxie Noffsinger, three daughters, Mrs. Naomi Williams and Mrs. Anna Jenkins, both of Central City, and Mrs. Brenda Todd of Evansville, Ind.; one son, Tommy of Central City; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gynith Randolph of Central City and Mrs. Ruth Jenkins of Paducah; one brother, Thomas of Elwood, Ill.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Gish Cemetery.
Charles Elmer Noffsinger, 64, of 200 Golden Eagle Drive, Bremen, died Feb. 21, 1998 at his residence in Bremen. He was born May 30, 1933 in Muhlenberg County. He was retired from the Air Force and employed as a school bus driver. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann (Lee) Noffsinger; four sons, Robbie Noffsinger of Bremen, Adrian Lee Noffsinger of Bremen, Bro. Dave Noffsinger of Central City and Jeff Noffsinger of Greensboro, N. C.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters, Pat Bruce of Owensboro, Ruth Bruce of Florence, Dortha Robertson of Calhoun, Helen Stirsman of Central City and Ruby Dreher of Buckhannon, W. Va.

Charles T. Noffsinger Dies at Central City
Central City, Ky. - Charles Townes Noffsinger, 73, former city assessor and collector and Muhlenberg county tax commissioner for 16 years, died at the Greenville hospital Friday at 3:30 p.m.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary McRoy Noffsinger, three sons, Denxel and Roy, Central City, and Joseph, Louisville; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Powell, Greenville, Mrs. Annie Duvall, Louisville, and Mrs. Lucille Fleming, Powderly; one brother, Clannie, Central City; one sister, Mrs. Edna Kittinger, Los Angeles; 11 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Noffsinger was a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a charter member of IOOF lodge No. 24, Central Ccity, a member of Rebekah lodge for 42 years, a member of Central lodge No. 673, F. and A.M. for 48 years, and past sachem of Erie Tribe 456 Improved Order of Red Men.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Central City Church of Christ, the Rev. James Cox, Greenville, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Krumy, Central City. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Arthur Carr, L.J. Turley, L.M. Rickard, Roy Coursey, Robert Sumner, and W.M. Sheets.

Mrs. John Noffsinger, 80, is Buried Today
Mrs. Effie Noffsinger, 80, died in Muhlenberg Community Hospital Tuesday, March 19, at 2:45 p.m. She was born in Odin, Ill. July 8, 1887, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, John T. Noffsinger Jr. and Robert L. Noffsinger, both of Evansville; four daughters, Miss Lorene Noffsinger of Detroit, Mrs. P.A. Shaver Jr. of Central City, Mrs. Forest Guinn of Owensboro, Mrs. Jack Slamer of Dayton, Ohio; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, O.E. Allen of Louisville. Her brother, Herman Allen of Island, preceded her in death eight days ago.
Services will be today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in Central City with the Rev. Richard Ramsey, pastor of the Central City First Methodist Chruch, in charge. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Elvy P. Noffsinger, 48 years old, died at his home near Central city, December 10. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Jones Noffsinger; a twin brother, S.G. Noffsinger of Greenville, Eclas Noffsinger of Cleaton, Elmo and Rollie Noffsinger of Bremen.
The funeral was held at Cedar Grove church Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. Andrew Kittinger. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were cousins of Mr. Noffsinger.
Greenville, Ky. - Flossie Noffsinger, 89, of Greenville died Thursday at Highland, Ind. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a member of Roland Memorial Baptist Church. She made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Courtland Sparks, of Griffith, Ind.
Other survivors include a son, Terrell Noffsinger of Silver Springs, Md.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Verna Noffsinger of Greenville, Cora Whitmer of Owensboro, Alma Richey of Central City, and Geneva Richey of Midland, Ky.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Roland Memorial Baptist Church. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation after 4 p.m. today at Gary's Funeral Home, Greenville.
G.R. Noffsinger, 86, Is Buried March 7
Cleaton - George R. Noffsinger, 86, died in Muhlenberg Community Hospital Tuesday, March 5, at 10:20 p.m.
Born in Muhlenberg County April 21, 1881, he was a retired farmer and a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Veda Cole of Torrance, Calif., Mrs. Georgia Duncan of Central City and Mrs. Barbara Torres of Louisville; two sons, Burness Noffsinger of Round Lake, Ill. and Kenneth Noffsinger of Chicago; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Dallas Noffsinger of Herron, Ill.
Services will be today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in Central City with the Rev. Roy Geary, pastor of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, in charge. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
Central City - Mr. Halbert Nodell Noffsinger, 66, of Central City, died Sunday, January 14, 1990 at 12:12 p.m. at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Mr. Noffsinger was born in Muhlenberg County on September 4, 1923. He was a retired mail carrier and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was also a Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: wife, Anna Noffsinger of Central city; one son, Lloyd Noffsinger of Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Martha Thomas of Sunny Vale, California, Brenda Johnson and Laura Jones both of Central City; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Brenice McCandless of Greenville and Carolyn Haack of Spring Lake, Michigan; three brothers, Oscar Noffsinger of Phoenix, Arizona, Wallace Nofsinger and Mendle Nofsinger both of Central City.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17 at 2 p.m. at the Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Wilson Lofland officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Rev. Houston Dood Noffsinger, 76, of Powderly, died Monday, Aug. 10 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
He was born April 29, 1922 in Muhlenberg County, was a retired coal miner and a Baptist minister. He was pastor of Woodson Baptist Church for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Virginia Mae Noffsinger; two sons, Roger Noffsinger of Greenville and Brad Noffsinger of Central City; daughter, Linda Andrews of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lindel Wayne Noffsinger of Hartford and Richard Earl Noffsinger of Bremen; sister, Leatrice Joy Morris of Bremen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Tucker Funeral Home, with Tommy Franklin officiating, assisted by Richard Noffsinger. Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Jake Noffsinger died of consumption at his home near Cedar Grove Monday night, after an illness of some years. Deceased was a well known citizen, and had many friends. The burial was at Cedar Grove yesterday afternoon, and was conducted by Odd Fellows from all parts of the county.
Central City - John Corbett Noffsinger Jr., 32, of Oxford, Ind., died Friday, Oct. 21, 1988, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Illinois. He was born in Daviess County and was a member of First Baptist Church in Oxford.
Survivors include one daughter, Joslyn Noffsinger of Geneva, Ill.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Noffsinger of Oxford; two brothers, Ronnie and Michael Noffsinger of Boswell, Ind.; three sisters, Shirley Brantley of West Lafayette, Ind., Brenda Alexander of Crofton and Pamela Marin of Wheaton, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

J.B. Noffsinger, 81, Dies; Leaves 84 Descendants
Joseph Bradford Noffsinger, 81, died at his home in the Old Bethel community at 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Old Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. S.A. Kittinger, pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Noffsinger was a farmer and had lived in the community his entire life. He was a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church.

Estimable woman of Central City dies
Central City, Ky., April 20.- Central City was shocked to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Lucy Noffsinger, the most estimable wife of City Councilman C. T. Noffsinger, which occurred at their home on Third street on Tuesday. While Mrs. Noffsinger had not been so well, her death was not expected. She was young, being only 31 years old, and was a member of a prominent family of Logan county, being Miss Lucy B. Johnson of Oakville. She had married City Councilman Noffsinger on the 13th day of November, 1898, and leaves, beside her husband, four children, the youngest a baby, two days old. She was a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and friend, and a devout member of the Christian church. The funeral occurred on Wednesday at 3 o'clock from the Christian church, services being conducted by Rev. Tuck, the pastor. Interment at Fairmount cemetery, followed by a host of friends with the father and children in their great bereavement.
Mrs. Mary Noffsinger, the most estimable wife of Mr. Andrew Noffsinger, a well known farmer of the Earles neighborhood, died this week after a protracted illness. Mrs. Noffsinger was a much loved woman, and her death is especially sad, occurring as it did only about two months after the death of her oldest son, Andrew.

Dies at home in Stringtown community 11 a.m. Wednesday, funeral services Friday.
Mrs. Mary E. Arnold Noffsinger, wife of Herbert Noffsinger, died at her home on the Stringtown road at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning. Herbert Andrew Noffsinger, a son, was born Monday, September 26, 1938, and died at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning, September 29.
Mrs. Noffsinger was a daughter of Charles and Josephine Arnold, born in Butler county March 6, 1894.
Funeral services for the mother and baby, that will be buried in his mother's arms, will be held at noon Friday. Interment will be in Rose cemetery.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Mr. Gary of the Greenville Baptist church, which church she had become a devoted member since childhood.
Mrs. Maude Noffsinger Dies Monday Afternoon
Mrs. Maude Ann Noffsinger, 62, died at the home of her son, John Noffsinger, near Central City, at 3:20 p.m., Monday. She was born in Muhlenberg County and had spent her entire life here. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are her husband, Shelby F. Noffsinger; five sons, Edward Noffsinger of Mayfield; Albert Noffsinger of Sacramento; John Noffsinger of Central City; Charles T. Noffsinger of Bremen; and Ernest Noffsinger of Central City; and five grandchildren.
Central City, Ky. - Word was received here Wednesday of the death of Mrs. Minnie Noffsinger, 58, wife of Leslie Noffsinger, former residents of Bremen, who died at Phoenix, Ariz., July 3, following a lingering illness.
Survived by her husband, 3 sons, Connis Noffsinger, Bremen; Cecil Noffsinger, and Montie Noffsinger, one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Obarkowitz, all of Phoenix.
The body will arrive in Central City at 4 a.m. Saturday and be taken to the Anderson Funeral home.

S.R. Noffsinger, 81, Dies in Oklahoma; Burial in Muhlenberg
Samuel Robert Noffsinger died in Oklahoma City, Okla., May 16, after an illness of a year's duration. He was born in Muhlenberg County May 30, 1853, where he resided for 50 years. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of this county.
The body arrived over the Illinois Central railroad at 3:43 a.m. Tuesday, and was taken to the home of his brother, J.B. Noffsinger, Route 1, this city. Funeral services were held at the Bethel Baptist church at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Bryant Wice. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Surviving are one son, Robert Noffsinger, Detroit, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Tom Jackson, Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, J.B. Noffsinger, Route 1, city, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Crist, this city.
Mrs. Sarah Noffsinger Leaves 145 Descendants
Central City - Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Aunt Betty) Noffsinger, 91, died at 3 a.m. Saturday, May 28th at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Holland in Powderly, leaving 145 descendants. Mrs. Noffsinger was born in Muhlenberg County, January 7, 1875, and was a member of Woodson Baptist Church.
Surviving besides Mrs. Holland are four other daughters, Mrs. Bertha Allen, Mrs. Verdie Rhoads, of Central City; Mrs. Alma Jernigan, Evansville, Indiana, Mrs. Mareen Mercer, Greenville; four sons, Shelby, Omer and Robert Noffsinger, all of Central City and Elmer Noffsinger of Bremen; 41 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Mitchell of Powderly and Bud Mitchell of Central City; a sister, Mrs. Dee Board.
Services were held at 3 p.m. (CST) Sunday at the Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, with burial in Old Bethel Cemetery.
Ulysses Noffsinger, 71, Dies Friday
Ulysses S. Noffsinger, 71, died Friday at 7 a.m. at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Drexel Hankins officiated, assisted by the Rev. Johnny Bruce and the Rev. W.D. Oakley, pastor of the church. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville with Masonic rites.
He was a member of Pond River Masonic Lodge 244 and a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He had been employed by the W.G. Duncan Coal Co. as farm manager for 35 years.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. B.F. Vincent of Bremen Route 1, Mrs. T.M. Vincent and Mrs. J.W. Vincent, both of Central City; three brothers, W.C. Noffsinger of Bremen Route 1, W.O. Noffsinger and S.O. Noffsinger, both of Greenville Route 1. He was living in the Yeargin's Chapel vicinity.
Bremen - Mrs. Verna Lee Noffsinger, 83, of Bremen, died Sunday, June 5, 1983, at Regional Medical Center, Madisonville. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Noffsinger, or Tollsboro, Joe Noffsinger, of Sidney, Australia and Charles Noffsinger, of Bremen; six daughters, Mrs. Wilma Bruce, of Owensboro, Mrs. Ruth Bruce, of Florence, Mrs. Dortha Revlett, of Sacramento, Mrs. Virginia Gould, of Joliet, Ill., Mrs. Helen Stirsman, of Central City and Mrs. Ruby Hatfield, of Buckhannon, W. Va.; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation after 5 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, and from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Sam Noffsinger died at her home near Old Bethel church early Tuesday morning, after an illness of some length from consumption. Interment was at Bethel church that afternoon. Deceased was an estimable woman, well known and highly respected.
Bremen - Mr. William Elmer Noffsinger, 86, died Thursday, November 22 at 4:20 p.m. at his residence.
Mr. Noffsinger was a retired farmer having been born in Muhlenberg County on March 5, 1893 and was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Noffsinger of Route 1, Bremen; six daughters, Wilma Bruce of Louisville, Mrs. Ruth Bruce of Florence, Ky., Mrs. Dorotha Revelette of Sacramento, Mrs. Virginia Gould of Juliet, Ill., Mrs. Helen Stirsman of Central City, Mrs. Ruby Hatfield of Buchanon, West Virginia; three sons, Bill of Paris, Joe of Sidney, Australia and Charles of Bremen, 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Omer and Bob of Central City; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Allen of Central City, Mrs. Mary Spears of Powderly, Mrs. Verdie Rhoades of Bremen, Mrs. Alma Jernigan of California and Mrs. Mareen Mercer of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 25 at 2 p.m. at the Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. James Crowel officiating, assisted by the Rev. Richard Shockley. Burial was in the Old Bethel Cemetery.
Central City - Mendle Nofsinger, 61, of Central City, died Sunday, November 6, 1994 at 11:50 p.m. at his residence.
Mr. Nofsinger was born in Muhlenberg County on October 21, 1933. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Central City. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include a sister, Carolyn Haack of Spring Lake, Michigan; a half-sister, Bernice McCandless of Greenville; and a half-brother, Oscar Nofsinger or Arizona.
Graveside services were held Friday, November 11 at Fairmount Cemetery with Dr. Carson Bevil officiating. Burial followed the ceremony.
Mrs. Nofsinger, 77, Dies Tuesday
Mrs. Minnie Belle Lewis Nofsinger, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 23 about 5 a.m. at her home in Central City.
She was born July 22, 1898 in Muhlenberg County. She was the widow of Shelby Nofsinger.
Survivors include two sons, Wallace and Mendel Nofsinger of Central City and Mrs. Carolyn Haack of Spring Lake, Mich.; two stepsons, O.H. Nofsinger of Phoenix, Ariz. and Halbert Nodell Noffsinger of Central City; step-daughter, Mrs. Victor McCandless of Greenville; nine grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are pending at Tucker Funeral Home.
Shelby B. Nofsinger, 81, dies on Nov. 25
Shelby B. Nofsinger, 81, of Central City, died Saturday, Nov. 25 at 12:53 a.m. at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville after a short illness.
Born June 16, 1891 in Muhlenberg County, he was a retired carpenter and member of the Central City First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie B. Nofsinger of Central City; four sons, O.H. Nofsinger of Phoenix, Ariz., Halbert Nodell, Wallace D., and Mindel L. Nofsinger, all of Central City; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice McCandless of Greenville and Mrs. Carolyn Haack of Spring Lake, Mich.; three brothers, Elmer Nofsinger of Bremen, Omer Nofsinger of Central City Route 3 and Bob Nofsinger of Central City Route 1; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Allen, Mrs. Vernie Rhoads of Central City Route 3 and Mrs. Mary Spears of Central City Route 1, Mrs. Alma Jernigan of California and Mrs. Maureen Mercer of Greenville Route 1; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday in Central City with the Rev. W.R. Cook, pastor of the Central City First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Central City - Mr. Wallace Delmar Nofsinger, 62, of Central City, died Sunday, July 21, 1991 at his residence in Central City.
He was born in Muhlenberg County July 20, 1929, and was a member of the Martwick Baptist Church. He was a retired electrician and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Sue Nofsinger, Central City; two daughters, Gayle Brothers and Karen Benson, both of Central City; four grandchildren; two brothers, Hethel Nofsinger, Phoenix, Arizona; Mindel Nofsinger, Central City; two sisters, Carolyn Haack, Spring Lake, Michigan and Brenice McCandless, Greenville.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 24 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Wilson Lofland officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Northampton - William F. Nofsinger, 93, retired Saalfield Publishing Co. employe, died Monday at General Medical Center.
Born in Central City, Ky., Mr. Nofsinger, of 2476 Theis rd., lived in Akron 45 years. He was a senior member of the West Hill Baptist Church.
He leaves his sons, Gordon, Rossville, Ga., Dewey, New Milford, William, Northampton, James, Akron; daughters, Mrs. Lucille Reed, Akron, Mrs. Mildred Knisley, Cuyahoga Falls, Mrs. Lavella Gibbons, LaHabra, Cal.; brothers, Clifton of Taylor, Mich., Emmitt of Allen Park, Mich.; sister, Mrs. Ida Vincent, Central City, Ky.; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hopkins funeral home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Greenville, Ky. - Mrs. Nora Lovell Nord, 90, died at 6:10 Sunday afternoon at the home of her son, Oscar Nord, Greenville, with whom she had lived for the past five years. She had been seriously ill for about a week.
She was a native of Muhlenberg County. Survivors in addition to her son include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Gary Funeral Home, Greenville, by the Rev. A.B. Gross, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. Burial will be in the Evergree Cemetery.

Nourse. - Mr. M. Nourse, father of Mrs. J.C. Townsend, died at his residence in Muhlenberg county, near Paradise, last Friday at 2 o'clock P.M., of flux, in the 73 year of his age. The remains were interred Saturday at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
