Edmunds, Lula Hillsman

Mrs. Lula Edmunds is taken by death
Dies at home of daughter, Mrs. R. H. Vick; burial at Livermore Tuesday afternoon

Mrs. Lula Hillsman Edmunds died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. H. Vick on Fourth Street, this city.

Mrs. Edmunds, the daughter of Dr. W. H. Hillsman and Pattie Townes Hillsman, was born in Amelia County, Virginia, on May 17, 1853, both parents members of leading, prominent families of the State in which she was born. When just a child her parents came to Kentucky and located at Livermore, where Mrs. Edmunds spent all of her life until she came to live in Central City about 20 years ago. When quite a young woman she married Mr. C. B. Edmunds of Livermore, who died in the year 1917. To this union five children were born, four of whom survive her: Mrs. R. H. Vick of Central City, Mrs. E. L. Holland of Baltimore, Mrs. W. C. Noon of Bloomington, Indiana, and Mr. W. H. Edmunds of Denver, Colorado, all with their mother at the end. Also survived by four grandchildren, Miss Dorothy Edmunds of Denver, Colorado, Messrs. W. C. Noon, Marvin Noon and Charles Noon of Bloomington, Ind.

Mrs. Edmunds was a lovely little lady with a most charming manner that endeared her to her many acquaintances; though well along in years she always retained her gentle, kind, sunny disposition that she had as a girl, making it always a real pleasure for those who met her to greet and cheer her.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. H. Vick, by the Rev. O. P. Bush, pastor of the Baptist Church of which church she has been a member for many years.

Pallbearers were J. Lee Jenkins, Jr., James L. Jenkins, H. F. Storer, Lucian Griffith, S. K. Coffman, and Ralph Lawton. Honorary: Louis Charlette, Clarence Charlette, W. E. Render, J. F. Smith, John Crouch, E. E. Quisenberry, M. J. Meyer, Orion Coin, all of Livermore.

After funeral services here the body was taken to Livermore where interment was in the burial plot of the Hillsman and Edmunds families.

Out-of-town people attending the funeral of Mrs. Lula Edmunds were: A son, W.H. Edmunds of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Noon, Mr. Noon and son, Marvin, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Lee Holland and Mr. Holland of Baltimore, Md.; Misses Lelia and Ruth Hillsman of Louisville, Mr. Barbee of Louisville; Mrs. Hiram Nuckols and Helen Louise Nuckols of Nuckols, Ky.; Mrs. Eual Dordoff of Owensboro; Miss Lottie Lashbrook, Delman and Johnson Lashbrook of Owensboro.
