Evans, Frank L.

Frank L. Evans formerly here dies in North
Made many friends here while Secretary of Board of Trade.

Word has just been received here of the death of Frank L. Evans, former secretary of the Central City Board of Trade, at the home of his sister in Cold Water [sic], Michigan, on January 10. Mr. Evans's secretaryship here continued from April 1924 until September 1925, and during that time he made many friends and was a great factor in building up the splendid organization now in existence here.

He was slightly past middle age and until his illness was a very active man. Following the meeting of the board of trade Monday night the following resolutions were prepared and sent to members of his family:

“We have just been informed of the death of Mr. Frank L. Davis [sic], former General Secretary of the Central City Board of Trade, at the home of his sister at Coldwater [sic], Michigan. This is indeed very sad news to the members of the Central City Board of Trade.

“In the passing of Mr. Evans we have suffered a great loss. During his time as Secretary he was courteous and obliging and ever ready to sacrifice his personal convenience to others. He resided among us almost eighteen months, when his health gave way and he was compelled to lay aside his duties and seek a restoration of his health, but it seems that god had a more important place for him to fill and he called him on to dwell with Him throughout the unending ages.

“Therefore, let it be resolved by the Central City Board of Trade that we go on record as being deeply grateful to Mr. Evans for his splendid work and achievements during his official connection with this organization, and

“Be it further resolved that we express the most sincere sympathy for his bereaved and beloved wife and spledid young son, as well as his sister and other relatives and friends. It is consoling to know that the promise of God is to the good and faithful, and we feel assured that our departed Secretary shall have a choice resting place in the realms of pure delight where sickness or sorrow does not abide.”.
