Lucas, Maria Guffy
Mrs. Maria Lucas died at her home five miles east of Greenville last Thursday, and was buried Friday. She was sixty-six years old, a sister to Hon. B.L.D. Guffy, of Morgantown, and an aunt of Hon. E.D. Guffy, of this place. Her life was full of good works and she was highly esteemed.

Lucas, Mrs. Will
Mrs. Will Lucas, colored, is dangerously burned and thought to be dying. At 6:30 o'clock this morning, her clothing caught on fire from a grate, and she was horribly burned before the flames were extinguished.
