Phillips, Elizabeth

Evansville, Ind. - Mrs. Elizabeth Philips, 62, of 31 W. Franklin St., Evansville died Monday at Deaconess Hospital. Born in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of Woodson Baptist Church, Powderly.

Surviving are her husband, Charles Phillips; a son, Randal Phillips, Evansville; a daughter, Mrs. Betty King, Evansville; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Floella Edwards, Graham, and Mrs. Edna Aileen Wilson, Lake City, Tenn.; two grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Richard Edwards, Evansville, Bill Edwards, Central City, and Cecil Edwards of Texas.

Services 2 p.m. today at Gary's Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Burial in Cave Spring Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Phillips, Opal Arms

Greenville - Opal Arms Phillips, 88, of Fayetteville, NC, died Monday, Oct. 30, 1995, at Womack Army Hospital at Fort Bragg, NC. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a member of Greens Chapel General Baptist Church near Greenville. Her husband, Erix Phillips, died in 1969.

Survivors include four sons, James L. Phillips of Shepherdsville, Erix D. Phillips of Greenville, and Norman G. and Roger D. Phillips, both of White Plains; three daughters, Lillian Richey of Mount Clemens, Mich., Marvine McMasters of Mount washington and Willodean Porter of Fayetteville; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Stanley of Greenville.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial in Cave Spring Cemetery near Greenville. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Phipps, George W.

Phipps, George W., 57, of Drakesboro, formerly on Evansville, Ind., died Wednesday at Ohio County Hospital, Hartford. Services are at 1 p.m. today at St. AME Zion Church, Drakesboro. Burial in West End Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church. Bibbs Funeral Home, Greenville, is in charge of arrangements.

Phipps, Judy K.

Drakesboro - Judy K. Phipps, 44, of Drakesboro died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Greenville and graduated from Drakesboro High School in 1972 and from Western Kentucky University in 1976. She was employed by Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for 25 years, where she was a certified health unit coordinator. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Drakesboro, where she was a member of Women Willing Workers for Christ and a former member of the senior choir. She was also a member of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Lindsey Shantel Phipps of Drakesboro; her mother, Imogene Phipps of Drakesboro; two brothers, Steven Phipps of Drakesboro and Matthew Phipps of Madisonville; six sisters, Donna Drake of Drakesboro, Georgetta Johnson and Fronda Buxton, both of Louisville, Marcia VanMeter of Madisonville, Angela Phipps of Owensboro and Laura Diehl of Oak Grove; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will be in West End Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. There will be no visitation at Mason & Son's Funeral Home in Madisonville.
