Bremen - Lavon Brothers Roark, 56, of Route 1, Bremen, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 1990, at her home. She was born in Muhlenberg County, was a human resources officer at the Paradise TVA Plant and was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Roark; a son, James B. Roark, and a daughter, Karen F. Roark, both of Route 1, Bremen; her mother, Hazel Brothers of Route 1, Bremen; a brother, Vernon Brothers of Central City; and three sisters, Gynon Huddleston of Central City, Maxine Cox of Clarksville, Tenn., and Anna Faye Stanfield of Kingston, Tenn.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation after 4 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, and from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Graham - Lucile Roark, 91, of Route 1, Graham, died Monday, June 21, 1993, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a member of East Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, John Roark of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Ray of Central City and Mrs. Patsy Dukes of Graham; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Miller of Greenville.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gary's Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial in East Union Cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Powderly - David S. Robards, 84, of Powderly, died Monday at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. Born in Webster County, he was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Robards; two sons, David S. Jr. and John W. Robards, both of Cincinnati; three daughters, Mrs. Cynthia Beasley, Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. Francis Neal, Dunmore, and Mrs. Jean Turley, Central City; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Robards, Greenville, and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Knight, South Carrollton.

Central City, Ky., March 14 - [Special] - Charles H. Robertson, one of the best known and wealthiest farmers of Muhlenberg county, died Wednesday at his home near South Carrollton, after a few days' illness of pneumonia. Mr. Robertson was fifty-seven years old, was a member of a prominent pioneer family and leaves a widow and nine children, three of the latter being critically ill of the same affection that caused the father's death. Only a week ago Lydia, his sixteen-year-old daughter, died from the same affection. He was a brother of William Robertson and an uncle of J.F. Robertson, of this city. The funeral will occur Thursday morning from Mt. Hope Baptist church, of which he was a consistent member for years.
Central City - Herbert Robey, 85, of Central City, died Sunday, July 28, 1985, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. He was born in Todd County, was a retired railroad worker and car salesman, and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Central City.
Survivors include a daughter, Nell Casebier of Central City; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Erma Heltsley and Velma Harris, both of Elkton.
Services are at 1 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Visitation at the funeral home.
Beech Creek - Charles Edward (Jude) Robinson, 66, of Beech Creek, died yesterday at Hopkins County Hospital, Madisonville. Born in Marshall County, he was a retired miner and a member of Mercer Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Robinson; five sons, Paul Robinson, New Whiteland, Ind.; Jewell Robinson, Owensboro; Jerry Robinson, Chandler, Ind., and Tommy and James Robinson, both of Central City; a stepson, Eddie Ehlschide, Powderly; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Earnest Robinson, Belton, and Earl Robinson, Dunmore, and three sisters, Mrs. Eva Mercer, South Carrollton, and Mrs. Edith Tabb and Mrs. Lillian Brewer, both of Drakesboro.

Drakesboro - Ernest Clifton Robinson, 71, died in Hopkins County Hospital Monday, Feb. 13, at 7:45 a.m. He was a retired miner. Born in Muhlenberg County March 15, 1906, he was a member of Drakesboro United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Robinson of Drakesboro; son, Thomas Clifton Robinson of Drakesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Fulcher of Beechmont and Mrs. Myra Lynn Smith of Ennis; five grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Kimmel of Bisbee, Ariz., Mrs. Iva Lou Day and Mrs. Julia James of Chicago, Mrs. Charlotte Hinton of Louisville and Mrs. Margaret Nell Williams of Drakesboro.
Services will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Tucker-Beechmont Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Odie Wright, with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Fielden Robinson
Fielden Allen Robinson, 54 years old, died at his home in Nonell, Ky., early Tuesday morning of complications. He is survived by his widow and six children, one brother, Marion Dukes, two sisters, Mrs. R. A. Dukes, and Mrs. Balford Adcock. Burial was in the Dukes cemetery near Bevier.
Drakesboro - Terry Robinson 20, Negro, died March 19, 1956 after a lingering illness. He was a graduate of Drakesboro Community High School in the Class of 1955, and was a member of the basketball team.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Robinson; two brothers, Roscoe and Richard; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cartwright, all of Drakesboro; grandfather, William Robinson, Cleaton.
Funeral services were March 21 at the Morgantown Methodist Church, the Rev. J. L. Carter officiating. Pallbearers were members of the basketball team at Community High. Burial was at Rochester.
Aunt Vida Robinson, wife of Jack Robinson, colored, died of a complication of ailments from which she has long suffered. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery and will be largely attended, as deceased was well known and generally liked.
Uncle Wes Robinson died at his home near court square at 11 o'clock Tuesday night. He was a well known old colored man, and was respected by all. Interment will be in the west end cemetery today.
Mrs. Jas. L. Rogers died of consumption at her home in Greenville Sunday.
Central City - Odie Floyd Rogers, 78, of Route 2, Central City, died at his residence Thursday at 7:30 a.m. A retired farmer and miner, he was born in Ohio County July 16, 1889, and was a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora Alice Rogers; a son, William J. Rogers, of Route 2, Central City; three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Sullivan, of Russellville.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. A. B. Gross at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tucker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday.
Officer D.F. Roll
Dies at His Former Home at Paradise.
D.F. Roll, a member of the Owensboro police force, died at Paradise, near Central City, at 1 o'clock Thursday morning. He was at the home of his brother when he died. The funeral will take place at Paradise this afternoon.
Mr. Roll was appointed on the local police force during the state fair. Besfore he became a member of the police force he conducted a grocery on East Fourth street. He was forty years of age and is survived by a widow and three children. He was a brother of Mrs. W. Moore, of this city.
Mr. Roll was a good officer and a gentleman in every respect. He was popular among his fellow officers and had the respect of a host of friends. He left his family $3,000 in life insurance.
Central City - Mary Louise Roll, 92, of Central City died Saturday, July 25, 1992, in Owensboro. She was born in Muhlenberg County, was a homemaker and was a member of Nelson Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, J.T. Roll of Central City and Tom Roll of Slaughters; three daughters, Eula Mae Bastin and Jewell Roll, both of Owensboro and Betty Staples of Hopkinsville; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister Allie Long of Louisville.
Services are at 2 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City.
Thomas L. (Curg) Roll 77 died at 9 p.m. Saturday [March 18, 1972] at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born in Texas he was a retired miner.
Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Louise (Heck) Roll; three daughters, Mrs. Eula Mae Bastin of Owensboro, Mrs. Arthur Staples of Hopkinsville and Mrs. Don Phelps of Providence; two sons, Joseph T. of Bremen and Tommy of Sanford, FL; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Mike of Sacramento, KY, Clarence of Del Rio, TX, and Joe of San Antonio, TX.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Parker-Washburne-Pannel Funeral Home by the Rev. W. R. Cook, pastor First Baptist Church, Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Central City - Marvin Rector Ross, 83, of Route 4, Central City, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1993, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville. He was born in Ohio County and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Davis and Marquetta Miller, both of Central City; five grandchildren; a brother, Lorren Ross of Mortons Gap; and two sisters, Virginia Brown of Centertown and Ruth Phelps of Owensboro.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Visitation after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Paralysis Fatal to Mrs. Rothert.
Mrs. Franziska Weber Rothert, seventy-nine years old, formerly well known to tobacco brokers, died at 7:30 o'clock Friday night at her home, 132 East Gray street, Louisville, Ky. She suffered a stroke of paralysis on November 12 after being in declining health for about a year. Her husband, Herman Rothert, died February 25, 1904.
Mrs. Rothert was born in Bruchsal, Baden, Germany, on May 11, 1835. She came to Louisville in 1853 with her parents and married Rothert, also of Germany, in September of that year. They made their home in Huntingburg, Ind., for thirty five years. They conducted a general store and tobacco business at Huntingburg. Later they became engaged in exporting leaf tobacco. Mrs. Rothert always took an active interest in the business.
Coming to Louisville, the Rotherts conducted a tobacco stripping plant at Tenth and Main streets, but retired after the cyclone. Mrs. Rothert is survived by a daughter, Miss Sophia Rothert, of Louisville, and three sons, Otto A. Rothers, the historian; John H. Rothert, representative of the Diebolt Safe and Lock Company, of Louisville, and Hugo C. Rothert, fo Huntingburg. Otto Rothert is at present suffering from an attack of pneumonia, but is improving, and will soon be out.
The body of Mrs. Rothert was carried to Huntingburg, Ind., and interment made there Monday afternoon.
Greenville - Otto A. Rothert, 84, died Wednesday morning in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a three-week illness.
He was an author and historian, having written and published a history of Muhlenberg County.
Surviving are one brother, Hugo C. Rothert, Little Rock, Ark.; two nieces, Dr. Frances C. Rothert, Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. Jeff Gatling, Camden, Ark.; one nephew, Matt H. Rothert, Camden, Ark.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 this afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. A. B. Gross, pastor, assisted by the Rev. G. B. Denning. Following services in Greenville, the body was taken to Huntingburg, Ind., to the Schmutzler Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10:30 Friday morning by the Rev. Evangelical Church [sic]. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery in Huntingburg.
Gary's Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Funeral services for “Aunt Liss” Short [sic], 99 years of age, who died at her home here Sunday, were held at the negro Baptist church yesterday afternoon and burial was in the West End cemetery. “Aunt Liss” was said to have been the oldest person in Greenville at the time of her death.
Greenville - Mrs. Grace M. Rowe, 74, of East Main Cross St., died yesterday at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of Greenville First Baptist Church and the Greenville Rebecca Lodge.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Della Mae McClellan, Greenville; three daughters, Mrs. Scott Mitchell Jr. and Mrs. Harry C. Perry, both of Oxon Hill, Md., and Mrs. Leroy Hendrix, Greenville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Loys and Willis McClellan, both of Harrodsburg, Ky.
Services 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Gary's Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. David Gardner officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
