Mrs. Olinda Ruester, 60, Beechmont, Dies

Beechmont - Mrs. Olinda C. Ruester, 60, died Monday, March 18 at 11:30 a.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was an elementary school teacher in New Athens, Ill., but had been ill for several weeks and was visiting her daughter, Mrs. John Houghland, in Beechmont. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, Ill.

She is survived by a son, L.A. Ruester of Detroit, Mich.; daughter, Mrs. John Houghland of Beechmont; three brothers, Henry Beimfohr of Madison, Ill., Elmer Beimfohr of Maschoutah, Ill., twin brother, Alfred Beimfohr of Okawville, Ill.; sister, Mrs. Annie Walters of New Athens, Ill.; five grandchildren.

James W. Russ, 94, To Be Buried April 23

James William Russ, 94, of Central City, died Wednesday, April 20, at 8:20 p.m. in Masonic Home in Shelbyville.

He was born in Butler county on March 17, 1872, and was a member of Nelson Creek Baptist Church and the N. H. Shaw Masonic Lodge at Nortonville.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Slaton of Evansville, Mrs. Lucille Haltacer of Hawthorne, Calif., Mrs. Ester Webster of Topeka, Kans., and Mrs. Letha Slaton of Plant City, Fla.; son, James Monroe Ross of Gary Heights, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, T. A. Russ of Central City and Jerry Russ of Madisonville.

Services will be Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Rubert Utley of Madisonville in charge, assisted by the Rev. Irian Snyder, pastor of Nelson Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Madisonville Memorial Gardens.

Rutledge, John

Cleaton - John Rutledge, Negro, was stricken suddenly at his home Jan. 18, 1956 and died in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital Jan. 20, 1956.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, of which he was a member. He had served in many official capacities and was an active deacon at the time of death. The Rev. C. L. Jones, ex-pastor, officiated at the funeral Jan. 23.

Survivors include wife, Mrs. Henrietta Rutledge; a stepson, George Wilson of Louisville; two step-grandchildren.

Burial was in Cleaton Community Cemetery.

Cleaton - Tom Rutledge, Negro, 76, died in his home in Cleaton.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. C.L. Jones pastor, officiating.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma Rutledge, three daughters, Mrs. Verna Fletcher of Mt. Sterling, Mrs. Opal Tribble, and Mrs. Mary Garrett, both of Lexington; four sons, Clint, Howard and Sam of Louisville and James of Cleaton; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
