Wolcott, India Whitmer

Mrs. India Whitmer Wolcott
Word was received here Wednesday night of the death of Mrs. India Whitmer Wolcott, who died suddenly Wednesday following a heart attack at her home in South Carrollton. She was a sister of the late Marshall D. Whitmer of Owensboro.

Mrs. Wolcott is survived by her husband, james F. Wolcott, South Carrollton, two brothers, Buddy and Josh Whitmer, Central City, and one sister, Miss Annie Riley Whitmer, Nashville.

Mrs. Lee Tyler, Owensboro, and Mrs. Norman Tucker, Central City, are nieces of Mrs. Wolcott, and Richard, Marshall and Hewlett Whitmer, Owensboro, and Billy and Joe Warren Whitmer, of Central City, are nephews of the deceased.

No funeral arrangements have been made.

South Carrollton, Ky., Dec. 9. - Funeral services for Mrs. India Whitmer Wolcott, wife of James F. Wolcott, who died suddenly Wednesday at her home here, were held at 2 p.m. today, in the South Carrollton Baptist church, the Rev. S. A. Kittinger officiating, with burial in Evergreen cemetery, South Carrollton. Pallbearers: Nephews.

Wood, Ellis

Penrod - Mr. Ellis Wood, 89, of Penrod, died Saturday, September 16, 1995 at the home of his daughter, Shirley Williams in Dunmor.

Mr. Wood was born in Muhlenberg County on June 1, 1906. He was a miner and a member of Mt. Moriah Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by father, Abner Wood, mother, Etta Wood, and wife Elsie Elizabeth Beadnell.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Ruth Grayson of Beechmont, Brenda Lois Peacock of Fordsville, and Shirley Sue Williams of Dunmor; one son, Charles Ellis Wood of Russellville; one sister, Bertha Christie of Greenville and one brother Herbert Wood of Dunmor.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 19 at 11 a.m. at Price Funeral Home, Inc. in Lewisburg with Mr. Charles Patton officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Church of Christ Cemetery in Muhlenberg County.

Wood, Homer

Beechmont - Homer Wood, 82, of Route 1, Beechmont, died Saturday, April 17, 1993, at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville. He was born in Muhlenberg County, was employed by RCA Corp. before retiring and was a member of Penrod Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Harvey French Wood and Dena Belle Hudnall Wood.

Survivors include his wife, Dona Belle Wood; a son, Harold McIntosh of Rochester; four grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Penrod Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation after 3 p.m. today at Price Funeral Home, Lewisburg.

Woodall, Cecil Columbus

Cecil C. Woodall, 60, is buried Sept. 6

Cecil Columbus Woodall, 60, of Cetral City, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. S.A. Kittinger and the Rev. Gerald Jones officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Naomi Woodall, three sons, C.W. and Raymond of California and Bobby of Reno, Nev.; daughter, Mrs. Hilda Hancock of California; four step-sons, Ray and Jerry Miller of Greenville, Bobby Miller of Evansville, Rodney Miller of Central City; step-daughter, Miss Nancy Miller of Evansville; two brothers, Johnny Woodall and Otway Woodall of Central City; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Whittinghill of Bremen Route 1 and Mrs. Edna Vincent of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.

Aged physician
Dies of heart trouble in Muhlenberg.
Two other well-known persons of the county also pass away.

Central City, Ky., Feb. 24 - [Special.] - Dr. B.W. Woodburn, the oldest practicing physician in Muhlenberg county, died at his home in Bremen this morning at 3 o'clock of heart trouble, at the advanced age of seventy-three. Dr. Woodburn was a member of one of the most prominent families of this county, and for fifty years had practiced medicine in Bremen. He leaves a wife, two sons, Dr. James Woodburn, of Earles, and Dr. Clarence Woodburn, of Bremen; one daughter, Mrs. I.W. Whitmer, and out of a family of five brothers and six sisters, only one brother and one sister, Dr. James Woodburn and Mrs. Belle Reed, both of Central City. The funeral will occur Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baptist church at Bremen, the interment in Bremen cemetery.

Woods, Ella Harbin

Drakesboro - Mrs. Ella Harbin Woods, 81, of Drakesboro, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.

She was born in Greenville, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church in Drakesboro.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Woods; three stepsons, James Woods of Nobleville, Ind., Vernon Woods of Toledo, Ohio, and Charles Woods of Drakesboro, and one stepdaughther, Mrs. Agnes McReynolds of Drakesboro.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the St. Paul AME Zion Church, conducted by the Rev. Alverna Bard. Burial will be in West End Cemetery in Greenville.

The body was removed from the Bibbs' Funeral Home to the Woods residence.

Wootton, Alfred T.

Dr. A.T. Wootton dies in Evansville
Body arrives in Central City Wednesday afternoon; funeral services at Baptist Church.

Dr. A.T. Wootton, 48 years old, who for a number of years was engaged in dentistry work here, died Tuesday night at his home in Evansville after a series of cerebral hemorrhages.

Dr. Wootton's office was over the Perry Drug Company, and while here enjoyed a large practice, disposing of his office about ten years ago on account of his health.

The body arrived in Central City Wednesday afternoon where it was taken to the funeral parlor of Arthur Moseley on First Street. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist church at 2 o'clock by the Rev. O.P. Bush, pastor. Interment was in Fairmount cemetery.

Dr. Wootton moved to Evansville a year ago from Hawesville.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edith Wootton; two daughters, Catherine and Billy Jean; two sons, Brooks and A.T. Wootton, Jr.; a brother, W.M. Wootton, Evansville, and a sister, Mrs. R.L. Bennett.
