Her mother was a Nancy SCHIELDS age 55 born in Ky on the 1850 census of Atchison co, Mo. This Nancy appears to be the one on the 1840 census of Montgomery co,Il under the household name of her son, Miles SHIELDS. Land records in Henry co, Ky state that this Alexander SHIELDS was dead by 1824 and my Angeline was born in 1837. What's wrong with this picture?!

Vincent WILLIAMS, Rev. War Col. He came from the South Branch of the Potomac River in Northern VA. I believe he came into KY around 1790 and was listed on the census for Madison County. He claimed many acres of land in KY. Census for 1800 lists him in Jefferson County, then he disappears from the census and reappears in 1830 in Madison County. However, somewhere (and I don't know where) I found his name in Henry County, or Shelby County. Does anyone have any information on Col. Vincent WILLIAMS? I know he had a daughter named Elizabeth who went to Missouri and married a man named George WEIGHT. He was a Judge there.

Interested in the HUMSTON family of Lacie, Turner's Station, and Newcastle. Edward Ashby HUMSTON (b. 1856, d. ?) was the son of James A. HUMSTON (1819-1904) and Judith Ann ASHBY MASSIE HUMSTON (1828-1888) who were both born of gentry families in the Shenandoah Valley. Dr. James and son Edward were apparently both distinguished physicians. I understand the HUMSTON house still stands in Henry County. Are there any HUMSTONs left in Henry? Does anyone know about this family or these individuals?
