CARPENTER, CASEY, CAYCE, EASLEY, HIEATT, WATTS posted by Russell Casey on Tuesday, July 20, 1999

I am looking for anything I can find on Josiah CAYCE who lived in Franklin Co. Ky from 1810-1830. There is some speculation that he had connections to Henry Co. as well. I think he moved to adjacent Shelby Co. Ky after 1830. He may have changed his name to CASEY. His father may be Robert CAYCE from Virginia. They all may be descendents of Charles CAYCE I. Josiah may be the father of Henry CASEY and Robert CASEY who lived in Anderson Co. Ky. These counties are adjacent to each other. We do know that some of the descendents of Charles Cayce/Casey II lived in Shelby Co. and Henry Co. KY Later gnerations of this family married into the CARPENTER family which had ancestors in the EASLEY, WATTS and HIEATT familys. The Hieatt family was in Henry, Anderson, Woodford, Shelby and possibly Jessamine Co. KY Anything anyone has is helpful. I will share.

MCDONALD, RANSDALL, RANSDELL posted by Brian Fuller on Wednesday, July 21, 1999

I'm having trouble locating info on my Shelton RANSDELL (or RANSDALL) who was 37 years of age and living in Bourbon Co. (Centerville) in 1880. I cannot find him in the 1870 census when he would have been listed with wife Susan MCDONALD and children Ida and Lulu. I cannot locate him in the 1860 census either. I've assumed he was born in Bourbon Co. based on the information on his daughters death certificate but am beginning to doubt. There are many RANSDELL/RANSDALL families in Owen, Henry and Mercer Counties. Could these families be related and my ancestor moved to Bourbon Co. on his own? Any information on this mystery would be appreciated.

HOLMES, JONES, ROBERTSON, SEWELL, WADE posted by Harriet Oldham on Tuesday, July 27, 1999

One of the families I'm researching in Henry County is the family of Joseph Thomas ROBERTSON of Bethlehem in Henry County. In fact, all the families I'm researching are in that area. Joseph was born 20 March 1860 in Henry Co. and died 18 February 1931 in Ballardsville, Oldham Co., Ky. and is buried at the Pleasureville Cemetery in Henry Co. The father of Joseph was William Luther ROBERTSON (Aug 1837- ) who married Nancy E. WADE (Sept 1839- ). I have been told by family members that they thought William's father was named James ROBERTSON. I need a lot of additional information there. Joseph married 1st my great-grandmother, Phoebe JONES (1859-1892) and shortly after she died he married her sister Mary JONES. Phoebe was first married to Wesley T. SEWELL and is buried in the Sewell Cemetery in Bethlehem. Her father was John JONES. Other families I'm researching, all around that time period, are the families of Washington WADE and Thomas HOLMES. I would very much like to contact anyone researching these families. It seems like the ROBERTSON'S and the WADE'S intermarried quite a bit and it has gotten quite confusing. Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
