C.C. DeArmond Dies on June 18
Funeral services were held Monday, June 19, for Connie Columbus DeArmond, 64, of Lewisburg.
Mr. DeArmond was a member of Mt. Moriah Church of Christ. He died following a long illness at the Logan County Hospital on June 18.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola DeArmond, and a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Anderson, both of Lewisburg; three brothers, Ralph DeArmond of Prescott, Ariz., John DeArmond and Demby DeArmond of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Mrs. Opal Goode of Penrod Route 1; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Rev. DeWayne Spivey officiated at funeral services and burial was in Hughes Cemetery in Muhlenberg County.
Fonzo Dearmand [sic], the promising son of Mr. and Mrs. Ban Dearmand [sic] of the Gus neighborhood, was called by death the 11th after a lingering illness of tuberculosis. He had many friends in this place who sincerely mourn his loss.
DeArmond Infant
Cleaton, Ky. - Pamela Roena DeArmond, five-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shelby A. DeArmond, Hammond, Ind., died of pneumonia at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
Surviving in addition to the parents are a sister, Nancy Marie; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Walls, Hebron, Ind., formerly of Cleaton; pateronal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Shelby DeArmond, Louisville, formerly of Penrod.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tucker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Herbert Ashby, Lewisburg. Burial will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Susan DeCoursey, 77, wife of Frank DeCoursey, Dunmor, were held Thursday, Nov. 5, at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg conducted by the Rev. E.E. Spickard and the Rev. W.A. Romans.
Mrs. DeCoursey died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Curlye Noe of Russellville. She was a member of the Dunmor Baptist Church.
A native of Logan County, Mrs. DeCoursey was the daughter of the late John and Anna Eliza Browning Lehman. She was born Feb. 17, 1876.
Besides her husband and sister, Mrs. DeCoursey leaves two other sisters, Mrs. T. Ackerman of Palmer, Tenn., and Mrs. Kate Mosier of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Robert Lehman of Mission, Texas, and Walter Lehman of Russellville.
Greenville Woman's Brother Dies At Home In Cloverport
Funeral services were conducted at Cloverport, Ky., last Thursday, for Wickliffe DeHaven, 43 years old, a brother of Mrs. W.M. Martin, Greenville. Mr. DeHaven died of dropsy. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mattie C. Bonner DeHaven; a daughter, Miss Katherine DeHaven; a brother, Carl DeHaven.
Mrs. George H. Dennis
Greenville, Ky. - Mrs. Aileen Dennis, 48, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Jackson Park Hospital, Chicago, Ill., following an illness of two months.
Born in Muhlenberg County and a member of Duvall Chapel Baptist Church, at Nebo, she is survived by her husband, George H. Dennis, Whiting, Ind.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert H. Dennis, Whiting, and William E. Dennis, Owensboro; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Gregory, Louisville; Mrs. Monie Weedman, Nebo; four brothers, Cecil Cobb, Louisville, Arthur Cobb, Central City, Gid and Ural Cobb, both of Chicago.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Duvall Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. B. A. Mercer. Burial will be in the Nebo Cemetery.
The body is at the Gary Funeral Home until time for services.
Last Rites Held For Mrs. Dennis At Greenville
A funeral service for Mrs. Anna Dennis, 81 years old, who died at her home in Louisville last Friday of cerebral apoplexy, was held at the home of Mrs. Lelia Yost in Greenville at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning, conducted by the Rev. J. T. Rushing, of Louisville, and the Rev. Roy H. Short, pastor of the Greenville Methodist church. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Dennis was a native of Muhlenberg county, and was a sister of W.A. Martin of Greenville.
Barnard Dennis dies October 29
Coralville, Iowa - Mr. Barnard W. Dennis, 66, of Coralville, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 29, at the Iowa City Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Dennis of Coralville, Iowa; two sons, Sonny Dennis and Donnie Dennis both at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ron Heidbreder of Danville, Iowa and Mrs. Gary Kinsinger of Coralville, Iowa; three grandchildren; seven brothers, Marion Dennis of Greenville, Joe Dennis of White Plains, Howard Dennis also of White Plains, Wesley Dennis of Route 1, Clifty, Herschel Dennis of Gilbertsville, KY; Boyce Dennis of Vista, CA, and Roy Dennis of Canton, OH; two sisters, Dorothy Swain of Drakesboro and Thelma Thurman of Island, KY.
Services were Friday, October 31, at 1:30 p.m., at the Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City, Iowa. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville, Iowa.
Greenville - Mrs. Lucy Averil Dennis, 76, of Route 2, Greenville, died Friday, Feb. 25, 1994, at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born in Ohio County and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Marion Dennis of Greenville; four sons, Billy, James, David and Kenney Dennis, all of Greenville; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Darrel Brown of Rochester.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today.

Dentzel was a native of Central City, Ky.

Drakesboro - Martin Dentzel, 87, of Drakesboro, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital, after a long illness. He was born Jan. 28, 1880, in Earlington.
Surviving are a brother, Harry Dentzel of Louisville; a sister, Miss Madeline Dentzel, also of Louisville; one nephew, Ralph R. Christian, of Nashville, Tenn., and two nieces, Miss Henrietta Christian of Washington, DC, and Mrs. Mary Sullivan of Mobile, Ala.
The body is at the Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, and will be removed to the Keenan Funeral Home in Louisville late today.
Central City - Charles Cecil DePoyster, 70, died at Veterans' Hospital, Chicago, Sunday.
He was born in Greenville Nov. 12, 1899, and was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Blackwell, Central City, Mrs. Cordie McKnight, Princeton, and Mrs. Vera Francis, Stark, Fla.; one nephew.
Graveside services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Fairmount Cemetery, with the Rev. W. R. Cook officiating.
The body is at the Tucker Funeral Home, Central City.
Greenville - Mrs. Fanie A. DePoyster, 87, of North Main St., Greenville, died yesterday at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Greenville. A member of Greenville First Christian Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.R. DePoyster.
Surviving are a son, Harold R. DePoyster, Greenville, and a grandson.
Services 2 p.m. Thursday at Gary Funeral Home, Greenville, with Dr. Michael Thiel officating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Greenville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 p.m. today.
Heart attack is fatal Monday, Jan. 4, to Mrs. Elmer DePoyster, Central City
Mrs. Hettie DePoyster, 63, widow of the late Elmer DePoyster, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward L. Henry, Central City, Monday, Jan. 4, at 8 a.m. following a heart attack. She was born in Butler County July 6, 1896. Mrs. DePoyster was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Surviving besides her daughter, Mrs. Henry, is a granddaughter, one brother L. R. Hunt, Sr., of Nashville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. F. Bennett Hulse. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Her husband operated a grocery store in Central City for many years and later was a produce company salesman.
Washington, Ind. - Anna Devine, 76, of Washington, formerly of Powderly, died Monday, July 10, 2000, at her home after a long illness. She was born in Muhlenberg County, attended Western Kentucky University and was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist church and was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, George Devine; two daughters, Debbra Sellers of Washington and Regina Bell of Stockbridge, Ga.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Poindexter-Hall & McClure Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Bremen, Ky. - Samuel Joseph Devine, 79, died at his residence here at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A retired miner, he was born in Muhlenberg County on Feb. 10, 1892. He was a member of Powers Chapel General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow Mrs. Pansy Devine; five sons, Robert Franklin, Wood Bridge, Va., Samuel, Lafayette, Ind., Allen Coleman, Chicago, Ill, Jake, Harrison, Tenn., and Andrew Joseph, Louisville; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, Central City, and Mrs. Dorothy Hadley, Louisville; two step sons, Paul Ragan, Galveston, Texas, and Ruby Duncan, Hammond, Ind., and 32 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Serivces will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home at Central City, conducted by the Rev. J.W. Haire, pastor of Powers Chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Central City - Will Devine, 88, formerly of Central City, died Monday, Oct. 28, 1985, in Washington, Ind. He was born in Muhlenberg County; was a retired miner; and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Central City.
Survivors include his wife, tura Devine; a son, George Devine of Washington, Ind.; a daughter, Ina Thompson of Tell City, Ind.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Visitation after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James Riley Dexter dies in Evansville
The body of James Riley Dexter will be returned from Evansville Thursday morning at 8 o'clock and will be held at Moseley's Funeral Parlor until 1 o'clock, when the funeral will be held at Cherry Hill church, services to be conducted by the Rev. Jim Withrow. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
