The Hopkins County Genealogical Society is located
is located at 14 Court Street, Madisonville, KY.
The Society has a large collection of books, specializing in the various county
books available for Kentucky,
especially those counties that surround Hopkins County. They also have numerous
books on Virginia, North
Carolina, and Tennessee as well as other states.
The Society library is
staffed by volunteers five days a week Tuesday - Thursday 12 PM until 4PM and
Friday 10 AM- 3 PM for your convenience or by appointment. (A volunteer must be on duty for you to have
access to the library unless
you are a paid member.)
Members may visit at any time. If there is no volunteer on duty when you arrive,
simply request the key at
the main desk down stairs and sign in. (You must show your current year
membership card.)
Hopkins County Genealogical Society celebrates its 43 year anniversary in 2009.
We invite you to become a
member. Dues are $20 per year which entitle you to unlimited access to the
Society's library, and a
subscription to "YESTERDAY'S TUCKAWAYS", a quarterly published by the Society.
Queries with Hopkins County
connections are welcomed and will be published as space permits, (usually not a
problem).

Meetings are held at the Center for Cultural & Professional Development, 38 West
Arch Street, Madisonville, KY, on the 4th Tuesday night of each month, at 7:00
PM.
